The Journal Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion will sponsor the Emerald EDI best paper award for the best paper of this year’s EDI Conference in Bern (value: € 200)
Conference theme 2021:
Social Sustainability
The 13th – 14th International Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Conference (EDI) will take place on 12-14 July 2021 in Bern, Switzerland, in a hybrid format, as both onsite and online
Registration closes on Wednesday, 30 June 2021
Please process your registration online via EDI.
In terms of the conference fee, you can switch between registering for in-person participation (€395/ reduced: €195) and online-only participation (€145/ reduced: €95) up until two weeks before the conference takes place (deadline 30 June 2021). You will then either receive a refund of any amount that has been overpaid, or be charged for the amount underpaid.
Given the increasing vaccination coverage in Switzerland, it may well be that restrictions will be eased further, rather than tightened. That said, the situation in July is, as you will understand, not entirely predictable.
For those of you who are coming to Bern, we strongly recommend that you book a hotel through a service that allows you to cancel the room up to one week before the conference (e.g., hrs.com or booking.com), and, if you are coming from Europe, that you travel to Bern by train, and buy your ticket as near to your day of departure as is feasible.
Please check possible quarantine requirements before travelling to Switzerland here:

Please do also check the following link for other rules and travel restrictions that may apply to you when entering Switzerland:

For questions regarding your payments and registration please contact: enquiries@edi-conference.org
For other questions please contact: thomas.koellen@iop.unibe.ch
The program will be released in the first week of July.
Due to its hybrid format, and the uncertainty surrounding how elements such as the conference dinner, reception, and social events might be able to be organized in July, this year’s EDI conference will certainly be different from the previous ones. However, we are hoping to be able to organize an event that enables both intense debate and a welcome and friendly gathering, after this long period of online-only conferencing.
See you in Bern!
Best wishes,
Thomas

Associated with this conference are European Management Review; Equality, Diversity, Inclusion: An International Journal, and The European Journal of Industrial Relations. Outstanding, pre-selected papers for the conference will be submitted to these journals, which will then process them, according to their usual standards.
We are also pleased to advise stream organizers that two series of books are also associated with the conference, “International Perspectives on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion” (an ongoing book series from Emerald), edited by Mustafa Özbilgin and Jean-François Chanlat, and “Diversity and Inclusion Research” (a new book series from Springer), edited by Thomas Köllen. Relevant stream proposals will be eligible for these book series, subject to acceptance by the respective editors, both of whom will attend the conference.
